It's been three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life.

And three years he's spent wondering why.

When their paths cross again in New York City, Adam and Mia are brought back together for one life-changing night.

Adam finally has the opportunity to ask Mia the questions that have been haunting him. But will a few hours in this magical city be enough to lay their past to rest, for good - or can you really have a second chance at first love?

MY THOUGHTS

If I stay wasn't one of my favorites. It was good, but it wasn't great, and I didn't really feel like picking up the next part of the book. But when I saw it in the library, I decided to take it with me, because well, free. And I was surprised at how much I actually enjoyed it. I think I enjoyed it even more than I enjoyed If I Stay, which might surprise a lot of readers.

Where She Went follows the main characters of If I Stay, just through the eyes of Adam, while If I Stay was written through the eyes of Mia. Mia still plays a big role in Adam's life and Adam doesn't understand why they broke up in the first place. Their paths cross in New York and Adam finally has the chance to ask Mia all the questions that have been haunting him for the past three years.

I love this concept. I love the concept that the girl left the guy, because it's usually the other way around. It's sad, Adam isn't happy, he's taking a lot of medication under the amount of stress he's in. His band doesn't really like him and he doesn't really like being part of the band in the first place. Adam is a likable character, I did like him when I read If I Stay as well. I really like Mia as well.

Gayle Forman is a great author. I loved Just One Day and I'm probably going to love Just One Year just as much. I loved Where She Went and I really enjoyed If I Stay. If you're looking for books that will make you weep, but that will stay with you, then I would highly recommend the If I Stay series.

  1. TOTALLY AGREE. This book was awesome! I much preferred it to If I Stay and found Adam's POV refreshing and raw.

    Cannot wait for the movie!
